                          Tell me more about U3A

                 
         The University of the Third Age was founded in Toulouse France in 1972
                           and is now practiced world wide.
                           In 1984 the first Australian U3A groups were formed in Melbourne.
                           They quickly spread throughout Victoria and within five years to every
                           State & Territory, developing as a voluntary self help organisation.
                           However many Universities, TAFE institutions, Schools, community
                           education groups and local councils have supported U3A by making
                           class rooms, offices and other resources available.

                           Who can join U3A Baw Baw ?

                        
 Anyone in the "third age" who has retirement intentions of furthering
                          their knowledge.

                          How much does it cost ?

                       
  An annual fee of $35 per year for membership ( from July 1st to June 30th )
                         with courses being free of charge. There may a small additional charge for
                         some courses or activities, excursions, craft material or the use of technical
                         equipment.

                         Where do we meet and how often ?

                        Our monthly general meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the most months ( except January, July, December)
                        at the R.S.L Memorial Community Centre,  94 Albert St Warragul

                         Courses are run at  our new home at E.C.G. Smith St., Warragul. Almost all of our courses are now held here. 
Other venues that may be used from time to time are the R.S.L Memorial Community Centre, 94 Albert St Warragul,
                         Vision Australia in Mouritz St Warragul and others as necessary.


                         What type of courses are on offer ?

                       
 A selection of courses that have been run and may still be ongoing, are,
                         Computer Studies, Camera Use, Film Appreciation, Languages, Histories which have included ( Australian, Ancient,
                         European, Technologies, Religion ), Philosophy, Scrabble, Art Appreciation

                         Do I need any qualifications to participate ?

                     
   No qualifications are required, just your general interest.
                         Best of all, there are no EXAMS.
